Hoi An is the land of the tailor. If you walk around Old Town there is no mistaking this fact. Visitors to Hoi An usually have a visit to a tailor on their bucket list of things to do. Most tailor shop recommendations will come from the front desk staff at your hotel. That's how I found our first tailor. Acceptable quality, good pricing and lighting fast turn around. That's 99% of the tailor shops in Hoi An. That is until I discovered OCHE Boutique. They have what the 99% have plus that little extra magic that puts it over the top for me. Service. Service. Service.
 
You'll know this is not your auntie’s tailor shop the moment you cross the threshold. OCHE's vestibule makes people stop and take a look. It's bright and inviting and the items on display are high fashion. From the entry you can get a glimpse of the vast array of fabric choices and the overall luxe feel of the shop.
 
I was on the hunt for a specific fabric and was referred here by a local dress merchant. Once inside I did not want to leave. The staff was welcoming and genuinely friendly. I found my fabric right away with their assistance. Then as I browsed further, I found a library that consisted of binders for all the different types of clothing styles they offered. Suits, shirts, casual wear, dresses, etc. I cuddled up with my maxi dress books and my cold bottle of water and stayed a while. I soon remembered there was a dress I found on the Internet that I would love to have duplicated. I was offered the shops Wi-Fi password and a whole world opened up.
My fitting specialist was Suri and she walked me through the process. I emailed the photo to OCHE Boutique. Suri would take my measurements and there was a "spot check" by her associate Thao to double confirm all was noted correctly. Measurements are kept on file for four years to accommodate any future order requests. I then had a fabric consult to make sure the chosen fabric would compliment the design. The first fitting was scheduled for the following day. When you return, you can then "fine tune" the garment to your liking. Longer length? No problem. A bit too tight? They will adjust to perfection. If you arrive for your fitting early in the day, you can have your item by the end of business the same day. Most orders are completed within 48 hrs.
 
OCHE Boutique has a large very well trained staff. On the days I visited, there were no less than six specialists assisting clients.
OCHE recently had an amazing fashion show in Hoi An featuring the designs of their international design team. Many of the runway items are on display and for sale in the boutique.
